Nordic Community Workshop

Sunday 27 May 2018
Registration Fee: EUR 55 + VAT
Location: Garbi 2

From Las Vegas to Sitges, the Nordic Community will gather yet again on the eve of The HIMSS Europe & Health 2.0 Conference. Are you ready for another follow-up with your colleagues from all across the Nordic region?

Building on the takeaways from the Nordic Educational Programming during HIMSS18 Global Conference in the US (see more in the report here), the HIMSS18 Nordic Working Groups will meet their colleagues from the Nordics and Europe to kickstart the action plan and to pave the way to a broader and stronger Nordic cooperation in eHealth.

All aspects of eHealth are deeply interconnected, but issues stemming from the ownership, usage and sharing of patient health data are vital for the Nordic Community. Throughout the region, health data is stored in local silos in non-standardised formats, which raises barriers preventing cooperation. The lack of or an insufficient legal framework, as well as lack of interoperability between systems, impedes the development of data-driven regional health strategies.

The challenges are diverse, and the work required to solve those challenges might seem titanic. However, they also present considerable opportunities that have the potential to bring substantial benefits to the Nordic countries’ eHealth development. The Nordic Workshop at Sitges focuses on the opportunities and the end goals to be achieved.
