Tuula Tiihonen (MSc in economics) is the Project Director at Sitra, specialising in the field of health and well-being provision through digitisation. Previously, Tuula has worked with technology, strategy and communications for international companies such as IBM, Shell and MSLGROUP.
Tuula focuses on what health and well-being services will look like in the future and how effectiveness and value can be increased in healthcare services. Tuula believes that healthcare is undergoing a huge transformation and digitisation means a transfer of power from institutions to individuals.
Tuula is joining actively in many working groups in the field of e-health and AI, among others the advisory board of Well-being and Health AiRo Programme #hyteairo and the Finnish Genome Centre working group, both appointed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.
The Finnish Parliament established Sitra as a gift to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Finland's independence in 1967. The future-oriented organisation was tasked with developing the successful Finland of tomorrow.
Today, Sitra is an independent foresight agency: futurologist, researcher, visionary, developer, experimentalist, partner, trainer, networker. Sitra envisages Finland as a successful pioneer in sustainable well-being. It promotes change via projects relating to digital health, circular economy, and impact investing, among others. It is funded by returns on endowment capital and capital investments.
