Jan-Eric Slot, MB MBA MSc CHCIO, is the former CIO & Chief Medical Information Officer and member of the Executive Board at Bernhoven Hospital since December 2013. Currently he serves there as Council to the Board as well as Expert on Value Based Healthcare (VBHC) at the National Institute of Healthcare in the Netherlands for the National Program on Outcome Measurements for Shared Decision Making
Prior he was the CEO of SNOMED International from 2010-2013 and the CIO at the Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam from 2005-2010. His areas of expertise include medical informatics, medical terminology, international standards in healthcare, total quality management and general management.
He has an experience of more than 30 years in Healthcare IT and has held several international management positions at Shared Medical Systems, Digital Equipment Corporation, Getronics Care Services and ADAC Labs as General Manager Radiotherapy &VP EMEA.
He has served on the boards of HIMSS Europe and CHIME, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives in the US and teaches IT Governance and VBHC since 2008 at the Medical Information Science faculty at the University of Amsterdam. He also serves on the board of ZorgConnect, a regional initiative that has created and governs a Personal Health Environment for citizens in the North-East of the Province of Brabant in the Netherlands.
