Tom is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Newcastle, England, with a passion for how data can be used to improve care. He is Senior Clinical Lead for Data at NHS Digital, where he has clinical responsibility for over 100 national data collections. He has also been a visitor in the Health Economics Team at Newcastle University since 2010 and is Principal Investigator on the Health Foundation Funded, Learning Healthcare Project. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics.
Tom has written policy reviews for The Health Foundation, NHS England, Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, Royal College of Psychiatrists and others. He wrote the chapter on digitising General Practice for the Wachter Review and co-authored a supplementary report on the digital future of mental healthcare, for the Topol Review. Tom has also worked with CQC, GMC and various other healthcare organisations.
