Johanna Mattson is the Director and Physician-in-Chief at the Helsinki University Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is the first OECI approved Comprehensive Cancer Center in Northern Europe. She also works as Adjunct Professor at the University of Helsinki.
She was the secretary for “Developing cancer treatment” –working group at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in Finland in 2009. In 2017-18 she conducted the Managing Healthcare Delivery program at the Harvard Business School.
Her main clinical and scientific interest is breast cancer. She has also been involved in developing digital mobile software for patient-reported outcomes during cancer therapies and follow-up. She is also the Finnish PI in the EU funded Bounce project on studying breast cancer patients’ resilience and developing tools and operation models to support patients’ ability to recover from cancer treatments.
Johanna Mattson is a member of the European Society of Medical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and national societies.
